Cesar Barahona

UNIDO RECP Lead Expert

 

Throughout his professional career, he has served as President of UNIDO’s global Industrial Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production network, with coverage in 65 countries, Coordinator of Nicaragua’s Latin American Cleaner Production network, and university professor.

He holds an MSc in Fluid Engineering and Energy Generation from the Institute of Science and Technology at The University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is a Mechanical Engineer from the National University of Engineering in Nicaragua.

Juan Sebastián Gutierrez

National Coordinator

 

International Business Administrator with a Master’s degree in Business Management (MBA) and a Master’s in Public Management. He has worked as Commercial Manager for Central America and the Caribbean in the construction sector and has been part of public institutions at the municipal, departmental, and national levels for more than 10 years. He has extensive experience in public policy design, project management, and local economic development. He currently serves as National Coordinator of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme in Colombia.

Chemical Engineer with a specialization in Environmental Engineering and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering. He focuses on sustainable industrial development and has experience in designing and coordinating projects centered on assessing environmental and economic impacts. His main goal is to demonstrate that sustainability is profitable. In his current role, he coordinates technical advisory services and studies related to cleaner production, circular economy, energy efficiency, water treatment, climate change mitigation, among others, across various industrial sectors to demonstrate their technical feasibility and economic benefits.

Sara Zafra

Policy Expert Coordinator

 

Lawyer, Master’s in International Economic Law, Specialist in Commercial Law and Contract Law. She worked for 13 years in the public sector as an advisor on projects and on the analysis and implementation of national public policies and foreign trade policies, as well as analysis of national and international regulations, agreements, and standards. Legal and Policy Consultant for the Eco-Industrial Parks Programme in Colombia at UNIDO.

She has experience in technical cooperation, planning, and budgeting in both the public and private sectors. She currently serves as National Administrator for UNIDO projects in EIP Colombia and Peru, and Sustainable Industrial Zones Development in Peru.

Administrative Expert

International Business Administrator with a specialization in Public Management and currently pursuing a specialization in Finance. She currently serves as National Administrator for UNIDO projects in EIP Colombia and Peru, and Sustainable Industrial Zones Development in Peru.

Natalia Cortés

Communications Coordinator

 

Communications professional with a creative and strategic approach, holding a Master’s degree in Marketing and Commercial Management. She has experience developing campaigns and promoting projects nationally and internationally in both the public and private sectors. She currently serves as Communications Coordinator for EIP Colombia and Peru, where she develops communication strategies to promote UNIDO projects in two key countries.
